Charles Kamen

Charles is trained as a clinical psychologist, with a PhD from the University of Georgia, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University.  He is now an Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester, where he conducts research on LGBT cancer survivors and their partners.  He recently received a grant from the National Cancer Institute to test an intervention designed to reduce health disparities that affect LGBT cancer survivors.  He is very interested in learning more about the policy side of health so that he can move his research from academia into an applied setting.

Charles will be examining recruitment and retention strategies to access and involve LGBT communities in health research and health promotion programs.
