Sharon J. Glezen
As Medical Chief of the University Health Service at the University of Rochester, Sharon has learned through her work that LGBT patients face obstacles to medical care that other patients do not. She welcomes the opportunity offered by the Certificate Program to better educate herself on the complex developmental, psychological, medical and legal issues at play for her LGBT patients so that she can continue her work to reduce health disparities for LGBT patients in Rochester and in the larger community. She also hopes to improve education concerning LGBT health for medical students. Sharon will serve for the next three years as the American College Health Association liaison to the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association.
Sharon worked to redesign the first year medical school curriculum in LGBT health at the University of Rochester Medical School. Click here for more info.
