Paul Mollard-Browning

Recently, Paul has relocated to Los Angeles. He has a long history of working for Public Health Departments in various capacities. The focus of his work over the last 16 years has been focused on HIV prevention with MSM and in particular, on the street with homeless injection drug users. He has worked with San Francisco DPH as an EMT, Humboldt County DHHS as an Outreach worker, Seattle-King County as a Health Educator, and with Multnomah County-Portland as a health specialist. Paul sees moving to Los Angeles and seeking experience with these populations as a great challenge for developing the ability to maneuver the Los Angeles bureaucratic and political environment. He anticipates turning up opportunities to do great work with CSOs for my capstone project.

Paul is on the two-year arc for completion of this certificate program. His vision is to address the health disparities for LGBT youth and adults to access competent harm reduction services in the Los Angeles area. He would like to participate in community assessments and provide advocacy to ensure that these individuals are included in the process, while reducing the stigma of being a sexual and gender minority and a drug-user.

-Studied health sciences at Seattle Community Colleges -Obtained my Baccalaureate degree in Nursing Science at the University of Portland
