Kate Luxion

Kate "Kat" Luxion started a career in Art and Academia before having a traumatic birthing experience in 2012. Since then, they started the nonprofit Journal of Reproductive Justice to help reduce health disparities and improve experiences for all parents from pregnancy through to parenthood. Projects completed by Kat, personally and through the Journal, bridge Art, Public Health, and Technology to bring about social change as a means of establishing an equality-focused praxis. They are excited to be able to join a cohort of like-minded individuals in the LGBT Health Practice and Policy program.

Kate will be developing inclusive childbirth and parenting materials to help in shifting away from a binary approach to gender, birth, and parenthood.
