Housing Accomodations

For out-of-town students, multiple occupancy housing is provided on or near campus at reduced cost. Check-in for the summer residency is 3:00 pm on Saturday before the start of the program on Sunday. Check out is Saturday morning on the last day of the program. Check-in and check-out for the spring residency are Thursday and Monday, respectively.  Current cost of housing for each residency is $250. Upon request, students may stay additional nights, checking in a day earlier or out a day later for an additional fee. There is limited availabilty of single occupancy units on campus for the summer residency. If single occupancy is desired, we recommend finding housing independently. Our office can provide a list of local hotels and referal services.

Program presentations and meetings are held on campus, near many affordable lunch spots. Most meetings will be held in District House, which has 5 restaurants and a Peets Coffee within its walls. Lunch on Capitol Hill day will be in the Longworth Congressional cafeteria, also with a range of options. Affordable breakfast and dinner restaurants are also near housing. We estimate the cost of meals for the week at $250 to $300, although it is certainly possible to spend a great deal more. There is a wealth of both inexpensive and high end dining options in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood. Grocery shopping is an option to save money at Whole Foods (1 block from District House). We will provide a list of local restaurants with a range of costs and variety of cuisines.
